a little about me
• I'm a color-obsessed west-coast, USA based artist. I grew up in Portland, Oregon, moved to Los Angeles at 17, and now live in the mountains of SoCal with my husband of 13 years.
• After 10+ years of working as a photographer and graphic designer for others, I started to allow myself to dream again and build this brand of my own, obie&fraer.
I've designed packaging for client products that have been sold at retailers like REI and Anthropologie (pinch me!), and now have hopes of getting my own products out into the world.
• I mainly use watercolor and gouache paints before finishing up my pieces in Photoshop or Procreate.
• If I'm not painting or working on a project for O&F, I'm usually cooking, listening to my favorite tunes, forest bathing, gobbling up as many facts about my *current* special interest as I can find (psychology is always on that list), reading, or vegging out on a reality tv show (my shameless guilty pleasure and favorite form of people-watching).
• I love people and kindness and making the simple moments and things in life as magical and beautiful and appreciated as possible (Pisces rising).
• People who inspire me: Paul Smith, Tyler Hays, Vivian Maier, Axel Vervoordt, Ralph Lauren, Józef Wilkon, The Provensens, Beatrice Alemagna, BANKS, Taro Gomi, Roger Duvoisin, Leonard Weisgard, Aliki, Florence Pugh, Kate Winslet, Laurken Kendall, Gyo Fujikawa, and J.M.W. Turner.
